China Calling Berlin 2007 were two conferences in Berlin on Popkom Music Exhibition

General Information

after the 7year's itch, fresh from China, Painkiller Magazine and Rock in China is coming to PopKomm. As co-founder und contact person, Yu Yang is looking forward to represent what meanwhile has grown into THE metal institution of China. He will be one of the speakers of a chinese music deligation to do a 10min presentation of chnese metal scene on two different events (one at PopKomm and one at CIC)

In the past few years we have observed that China’s economy in the IT sector and automobile industry can develop rapidly. The music industry in China is also on the rise and is increasingly affecting German creative industries. This is reason enough to invite representatives of China’s music and media scene to this year’s Popkomm, they will report on the current situation in the music market and its special features. Experts such as Hao Fang, editor of the Chinese edition of “Rolling Stone”, Wang Xiang, editor of “Gramophone” magazine and president of the Poloart record label, Yang Yu, music critic, web blogger and editor of “Painkiller Mag”, Hong Mei, Producer of “Science and Education Channel” on CCTV focusing on music and Zhang Youdai, DJ and radio music editor will speak of experiences, momentary problems and future prospects of the Chinese music market at Popkomm. Afterwards a networking meeting will take place. Through this meeting German and Chinese music industry representatives will have the opportunity to exchange information and on this basis lay the foundations for future international projects.
